Statistics deal with collecting, organizing, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data. There are two types of statistics: Descriptive and inferential. Descriptive statistics summarizes data from a data set using mean, median, mode, standard deviation…etc. On the other hand, Inferential Statistics makes inferences about populations using data sampled from the population.
Data collected in statistics is classified into two types: numerical (quantitative) or categorical (qualitative).
In the study of one sample or more, statisticians should decide on the right test to use in order to draw the right conclusions about the population.
